Time, in the hospital slows down until seconds seem more like minutes. Grandma fell on August 21st and I have been with her day to day about 10-12 hours each day since then. After 25 days of these daily visits, seeming people coming and going, getting to know the staff and also just watching grandma’s slow and steady progress, I am absolutely amazed that people can actually work in the feild of healthcare!
For me, it feels like I have been trapped in a cage (though admittedly it is where I want to be) for months and months, no fresh air, lots of stinky people smells, crying out, pain, sad stories and just generally it is a sad place to be, so what is it that makes anyone stay in this job?
My thinking is that it must be the hot doctors!
